Mother's Day 2020

Celebrating Mum While Practicing Social Distancing

Mother’s Day is just around the corner and this year it’s going to be a little different: we are most likely going to celebrate Mum from a distance. At Petals Network we are now more than ever committed to deliver smiles and flowers across Australia and New Zealand.

Contactless Flower Delivery:

We have changed the way we work to ensure our safety and the safety of your loved ones. This means that our florists will either call the recipient first and notify them of the upcoming delivery and arrange to leave the flowers at the door or they will knock on the door, move away and leave the flowers on the doorstep, maintaining social distancing rules as they communicate with the recipient.

Sending Mum A Mother’s Day Present:

This pandemic has forced social distancing upon us, but we can’t let this stop us from celebrating Mums. We just need to get creative and explore different ways to go against the odds and turn this Mother’s Day into a memorable one, different, yet to be remembered as a unique precious moment.

Some ideas to keep this Mother’s Day fun and original:

1) Get Mum a subscription she’ll absolutely love:

whether Mum likes books, wine, gardening or anything else, there are plenty of subscription services that can make your Mother’s Day present last a whole year.

2) Have a “Virtual Brunch” with Mum:

if you can’t see her in person, you can still make her feel close, by setting up a video call and have a toast to celebrate your special Mum.

3) Mums love flowers:

this year you might not be able to bring her flowers in person as you would normally do, but you can order her favourite flowers on Petals.com.au and have our professional florists surprise her when she least expects it.

4) Send her a letter:

after decades of text messages and emails, surprise Mum with a good old-fashioned handwritten letter. She certainly doesn’t expect that anymore, but you know she’ll treasure it forever!

5) Hand crafted surprise:

this is not for everyone, but if you have a creative side, you might want to hand-craft a present for your mother, just like you used to do when you were a little kid. That would certainly bring back lots of lovely memories.
